Dear Ones in Christ Jesus
Our loving greetings in the Name of Jesus.
Since our last prayer/newsletter, so many things have happened and we have continued to experience a severe drought.
We do rejoice to tell you that we have a new vehicle for the Outreach Gospel Ministry- and we just want to say a big
"thank you" to those who gave to enable us to purchase the vehicle. It is a Toyota Hi-Ace and is larger and has more
seats, a two litre engine and power steering. The other wonderful thing is that should we, at a later time, need any
parts, these are available in all the major towns of Kenya. It will be marvellous to drive in this new van and we aim
with the Lord's help, to reach hundreds and thousands of souls with the Gospel.
In the past months, we have had many soul winning outreaches. Before our two April Seminars at the Western house we
had a wonderful outreach in some of our Teachers' Training Colleges and 206 gave their lives to Christ. Then we had
the Seminars and 32 young people gave their lives to Christ. There was a real move of the Spirit in both Seminars.
After the April Seminars we started visiting and ministering to school teachers and students in different parts of the
country and we have witnessed 342 students and 97 teachers accepting Jesus Christ into their lives.
Before this our little house on the Nandi plot was burned to the ground with everything in it. Prior to this, we had a
very big tree on the plot which was leaning over the public footpath and the Council told us to cut it down. So we did
this and it made 20 bags of charcoal- 5 tons of firewood all ready for the April Seminars. There were also seeds and
fertilizer ready to plant, some bags of maize and beans- plus all furniture and utensils and all our jembes (mattocks)
and axes. We can only think that some of the charcoal overheated and caught alight, so this was such a big loss to us.
We were able to get more seeds and fertilizer with your gifts, so we are hoping to get a good crop in November.
The bananas and other trees are doing well as we have had rain in the Nandi and Western areas. We have had no rain for
twelve months in the Njoro region. Some while ago, a local church helped us to construct a tank at Njoro - again aided
with your gifts sent out. We do thank God because we had been able to get water in our Njoro pipe every Saturday and
Sunday (but now this is only once every two weeks). The water tank is able to store about 2200 gallons which can last
for three months if it is used with care, so Jenny is very thankful to the Lord and to you also for the provision of
this water tank.
At the Western house, the well is now ready and the girls are getting about 250 litres daily, so they rarely have to go
to the river pipe for water and this is a tremendous relief to them. We are still hoping to build a tank at the Western
house so we can get water from the roof when it rains. Christians are coming to the Njoro house and the Western one to
ask for help with food and water, and our boys are going to school with food and water which they have had to share with
others who have none. I have never known such a time in my country as this. Please pray with us for rain.
Our Josephine (who is such a blessing to the ministry) was taken very very ill. I had to drive to Western Kenya to get her
admitted to our local hospital. She had Malaria and Pneumonia which had affected her nerves. She was dehydrated as a result
of the high temperature in her body. Well, we do thank God that she has improved very much. We had the bill from the
hospital and it was £340! We also need maize, beans and hay as we are now without any, so we do need your prayers for these
things.
Everyone is looking forward with great anticipation to the coming of Brother Robin in October and we have begun preparing
for his visit. We are very thankful to our Mama Mary to be willing for him to come to us - Mama Mary and my dear wife Jenny
are very helpful to us in this Ministry. Jenny has understood me so well and she has been willing for me to go anywhere for
the sake of the Gospel- which is a wonderful gift from the Lord Himself. Brother Robin and Mama Mary have been very very
important to this ministry .
God bless you all richly. With our love in Jesus.
Joseph & Jenny Luvisia.
