Dear Ones in Christ Jesus
Our loving greetings in Jesus' Name.
I write on behalf of myself, the family and the entire Ministry to share with you what the Lord is doing here in the field
of evangelism. I and some of my daughters who were with me at our Njoro home, arrived here in Western Kenya on Wednesday
26th June 2002 and the following day we went straight to Kapsabet to join Joy and the other girls who were busy in the soul
winning outreach mission. I ministered God's Word to two schools that day and Thursday 27th. I felt the need of visiting
Kapsabet Prison and the District Hospital. On Friday 28th I preached the Word in the two schools and then that evening I
made arrangements with the Medical Officer of Health to go and pray for the sick. I was so shocked to learn that the hospital,
which has only 1800 beds, has a total of 3000 patients. Most of the in-patients sleep down on the floor and some share one
bed. I was so horrified to learn that out of the 3000 in-patients, I66 were AIDS sufferers. I learned from the Provincial
Medical Officer who drove all the way from Nakuru to come and welcome me officially to the hospital, that 700 AIDS sufferers
die each day in our Kenyan hospitals and the number of those who die in their homes is not even known. He was so moved with
our love and care for the needy, the sick and the helpless people in our society. He tearfully told those gathered together
that he had been in the medical profession for many years but he had not met preachers who were so loving and caring like
ourselves. This is what he said and I quote "Not many people like preaching or talking to the HIV/AIDS victims for fear of
being infected by this epidemic but I have learned today that there are two or three people in this country who care about
the AIDS victims. Your love and compassion will be a source of encouragement to me and to all the hospital staff. We shall
continue to help the sick people with boldness and dedication. We are in a risky business but your prayers will help us to
move on without fear."
We were so touched with those words, which came from the mouth of a very senior medical officer. Most of those who were with
me cried uncontrollably for those touching words. It took us eight hours to talk to and pray for all the sick patients. We
were in the hospital from 7pm to 3am. I got so tired after moving from bed to bed, ward to ward talking to the sick
individually. Nine hospital nurses and two doctors gave their lives to Christ. I am also glad to tell you that a total of
810 people gave their lives to Christ that one day. Many souls are being won to Christ.
We have even decided not to give an exact number of Bibles, which we require because the number of HIV/AIDS victims who were
giving their lives to Christ is increasing day by day.
The following day, which was Saturday 29th June, I was led by the Lord to visit and preach to the prisoners in Kapsabet
Prison and a total of I07 prisoners and a few staff members surrendered their lives to Christ. We have already distributed
300 English and Kiswahili Bibles since we started obeying the Lord's voice to reach out for the HIV/AIDS sufferers. Aunt
Pam has kindly given us K.shillings 20,000 towards this important project.
We are all in serious prayers concerning the completion of our Nandi house. We are really believing the Lord for its
completion. We recently decided to camp outside our Nandi plot for seven days for prayer and fasting for the Lord to open
ways for us to complete that house which would be very helpful to us and the Lord's work. Our desire is to have the house
completed before the September harvesting season. We would like also to put up permanent latrines and a strong garage for
the vehicle. Many people including pastors have lost their vehicles to robbers and arsonists who steal the vehicles or set
them ablaze when they fail to start them. It is very unsafe for the vehicle to spend the night outside, especially at this
time of political campaigns.
We started our prayer and fasting at our Nandi plot on Sunday 30th June, 2002 and we continued until Saturday 6th July.
Please do kindly join us in prayers for this important project.
Please do remember us in prayers because we are having one of the toughest soul winning campaigns we have ever had before.
Many people are giving their lives to Christ and evil spirits are coming out of people screaming, as demon possessed people
are being set free. There are very many devil worshippers in our schools and colleges. We are not only preaching in schools
but we are also strengthening the Christian Unions in those schools. The Lord has been reminding us that we are His hands and
if we don't feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, entertain the stranger, visit the imprisoned and clothe the naked,
who will? Christ is depending on us to do the things He did while He was on earth. Many of us (members of the Body of
Christ) have failed Him. Many members of the Body of Christ have gone their own selfish, careless way, heedless of the cry
of the needy. Last Sunday evening, the day we started our one week's prayer and fasting, the Lord led us to a verse in the
book of James Chapter 4: 17, which says that: "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
'' We were so touched and challenged by those words. We must reach out to the sinners, the sick, the needy, those neglected
and despised in society. May the Lord help us to be more compassionate to those needy and helpless people.
We do thank you dear ones for your prayers, which have enabled us to reach where we are today. We are where we are now as a
result of your prayers and financial support.
We are still appealing to the Body of Christ to sacrifice themselves and give generously to this noble gospel outreach
ministry. We are trusting the Lord for more Kiswahili and English Bibles.
Please do kindly convey our love and greetings to all those who pray and support this work in any way. The other day, I and
some of my daughters visited a small village which is near Timboroa on the Eldoret-Nakuru road and there were nine big girls
sitting in a house and when they saw us through the window, they locked themselves inside. We asked a woman who was seated
outside why the girls locked themselves inside the house? She smiled and then told us that they had locked themselves inside
because they had no clothes as their clothes were torn and they were unable to buy clothes. I went and knocked at the door
and one of them who looked very shy opened the door for us and we were so shocked to see her almost half naked. I asked the
others to come from their hiding the way they were and they came out looking very shy. I shared with them about Christ and
they shed tears while I was still talking to them and they all accepted Jesus into their lives. After prayers one of them
shouted ''Please Baba (Father) help us since we have no parents, all our parents died of AIDS. We have all left school for
lack of school fees and we have no one to give us food and clothes. We fear asking people to help us because they may ask
us to have sex with them. We fear dying like our late parents.'' I went home and asked the girls to contribute some of their
clothes to them and each one gave three of their dresses. Now my girls have only two dresses each. I also took five bags of
maize to those girls. Now those girls look very smart but we have no money to take them back to school.
We love you and are praying for you. May the Lord give you good health. The girls join me in sending their love and best
wishes to you all and to the Body of Christ.
With deep love in Christ.
